Entertaiment is one of the most diverse and complex of human activities. It can be as low-brow as a Shakespearean play and as high-minded as an opera or dance. It may be as private as an individual choosing a personal entertainment from the vast array of pre-recorded products available, or it can be as public as a banquet, a festival, a political gathering, or a performance intended for thousands. It may be as purely recreational as a sport or as morally critical as satire. The feeling of being entertained is a highly personal matter, and what is entertainment for one person is often work or cruelty to another.
